ROSI in Copenhagen – AOM 2025

The ROSI group gathered around for a catch up around croissants and other delicious baked goods during AOM this year! The conversation was so nice that we even forgot to take a photo… Thanks so much to Susan Hilbolling for organizing!

Soon after our breakfast, we made our way over to the professional development workshop “Bridging silos: Toward a research agenda for open social innovation” organized by our members Hannah Fults, Susan Hilbolling, and Philipp Tuertscher. This PDW addressed fragmentation in research on open social innovation by building a community of scholars across disciplines and AOM divisions. In order to facilitate this, the PDW began with panel presentations by Anne-Laure Fayard, Lars Bo Jeppesen, Leonhard Dobusch, Marion Poetz, and Ann-Kristin Zobel. Following the presentations, participants engaged across silos at their respective roundtables that were facilitated by two scholars from distinct research areas. We were very happy to see many ROSI faces and add new members after the session!

Susan, Alberto Bertello and Sunny Mosangzi Xu also organized a panel symposium on Sunday, titled “Further theorizing the ‘open’: Practice and process perspectives on open innovation and strategy”. The symposium aimed to bring together scholars from open innovation and open strategy, and explored future directions for research in these areas from practice and process perspectives. To encourage dialog on these topics, the symposium hosted a lovely panel including Susanne Beck, Marcel Bogers, Laura Dobusch, and Philipp Tuertscher, with Paul Carlile serving as the discussant.
